Family

Chris and Karren married in 1978.

They now have two children:

• Joanne (born 1982) is an Accountant in Auckland who married Charles Samuels in 2006.

• Megan (born 1986) is a Beauty Therapist also living in Auckland.

Extra curricula activities

Chris has a large involvement in off farm activities:

• Southern Rugby Club committee
• Trustee and Deputy Chairman Sport Northland Trust.
• Chairman (Sport Northland Rep) Whangarei Aquatic Center redevelopment committee. (Building an $11m complex) opened late 2007
• Councilor (representing Northland) for NZ Angus Association
• Director of NZ Performance Beef Breeders
• Director of Angus Pure
• Secretary of family organization
